122 containers were seized! More Chinese goods face strict investigation!

India’s largest port, Nawasheva Port, seized as many as 122 containers of cargo from China.(containers fastener )

The reason given by India for the seizure was that these containers were suspected of containing banned fireworks, electronic products, microchips and other contraband from China.

It is reported that the 122 containers seized and investigated this time are from a container ship named “Wan Hai 513″ shipped from Wan Hai. The containers contained falsely declared cargo from China, including microchips, but details remain unclear.

The progress of the investigation is unclear and officials have not disclosed the specific port where the containers were loaded. However, sources indicate that importers of some containers have received release notices and received the goods.

Port cargo terminal management detained the containers at their premises and submitted detailed information, including customs declarations, assessments and inspection status, to the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU) via email.

Nonetheless, the shipment will still need to be monitored 24/7 and ensure it remains under supervision until further instructions.

In March this year, India also seized a batch of Chinese export goods. Indian customs intercepted a ship bound for Pakistan from China at Mumbai’s Navasheva port and seized a cargo, officials said.

It is reported that Nhava Sheva Port is one of the important ports in India handling container trade and is the second busiest port after Mundra Port. Nhava Sheva has made a strong start to the 2024-25 financial year, with throughput in April up 5.5% year-on-year to approximately 551,000 TEU, according to the latest port data.

What causes a large number of shipments to be delayed?(fasteners company)

As the volume of containers continues to increase, Navasheva Terminal often faces delays in cargo entry and exit. Recently, towing company executives have expressed serious concerns about congestion and long lines at port stacks.

Faced with this unprecedented large-scale seizure of container cargo, the industry predicts that this will lead to intensified inspections and slow release of cargo arriving at other major ports in India, resulting in a large number of cargo delays.
